Job Title: Communication Specialist

Type: Full-Time
Our client is seeking a strong business analyst on a contract basis to join their team right away! This position will develop marketing materials and write promotional copy suitable for social media, websites, listservs and other dissemination channels, as required, to publicize clients and client projects.

Communication Specialist Responsibilities: 

  • Develop marketing materials and write promotional copy suitable for social media, websites, listservs and other dissemination channels, as required, to publicize clients and client projects
  • Assist with promotional activities that support dissemination efforts and materials uptake
  • Support social media execution and contribute to the creation and upkeep of editorial calendars for clients’ and Impact’s social media channels
  • Identify publicity opportunities for clients and Impact and provide PR support, drafting, and pitching
  • Lead the development of communication products with a multi-disciplinary team and ensure products are delivered on time and in budget
  • Support technical writing activities and produce creative copy in support of technical products such as evidence-informed intervention guides, case studies on client research projects and other technical health communication products
  • Conduct formative research and research topics of interest related to clients and their constituents, including interviewing subject matter experts in a variety of fields and/or end users and using research findings to guide development of strategies and/or content
Communication Specialist Requirements: 

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., English, Journalism, Communications, Public Health or a related social science). Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience with digital marketing (with an emphasis on social media marketing) and in executing outreach strategies using various channels, including social media analytics tracking
  • Experience working on Federal government contracts or grants
  • Technical writing, editing, research, interviewing, time management and organizational skills a must
  • Health marketing and communications background (experience in HIV preferred)
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand complex, often technically-specific and client-specific content and effectively synthesize it for a variety of target audiences
  • Experience supporting dissemination and publicity efforts
