Compensation Range: $31 - 36 per hour

We are seeking a Materials Developer to create zippers, shoelaces, snaps, buttons, drawstrings, and other trims for a temporary contract role through June 2025. This onsite position requires you to be in Beaverton 4 days a week. You’ll partner with design teams to deliver seasonal trim palettes, bringing new innovations to life while ensuring aesthetics and quality. Responsibilities:

  • Partner with design to define, create, and deliver core and seasonal trim palettes with a focus on aesthetics and quality.
  • Provide a pulse on industry direction and bring new innovations to life.
  • Work effectively within the materials team to ensure a thoughtful approach to developing new trims prioritized in collaboration with cross-functional partners.
  • A strong development background in a variety of trim types as well as an understanding of garment application will ensure delivery of great product.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Textile Science, Apparel Engineering, Apparel/Industrial Design, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years' relevant work experience in material development, product development or design.
  • 2 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Team player attitude and strength in building positive working relationships.
  • Expertise in Trim development (techniques, technologies, and application).
  • Connection to trend and consumer insights. Ability to be creative and technical.
  • Understanding of design and development process from inception through final adoption.
  • Proactive problem solving and information seeking-skills.
  • Ability to build a strategic plan/roadmap around key projects and execute to completion.
  • Strong Multi-tasking skills and ability to move with agility through ambiguity.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including strong presentation skills.
  • Experience communicating and collaborating with global partners.
