Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of trend-forward brand packaging for a variety of home categories.
- Collaborate with Product Development, Buyers, and Trend Teams to create lifestyle-driven packaging solutions.
- Direct freelancers, contractors, and design team members in executing high-quality branding and packaging.
- Oversee the packaging approval process to ensure quality, consistency, and timely delivery.
- Design and guide production for packaging components, including boxes, hangtags, and labels, from conception to shelf-ready.
- Establish and enforce quality parameters for print, color, and construction to optimize efficiency.
- Manage photography needs for packaging, directing styling and ensuring photo quality and timeline adherence.
- Collaborate with legal and trademark teams to research and secure new brand names while meeting all trademark requirements.
- Drive innovation through trend research and implementation of cohesive, cutting-edge design solutions.
- Oversees the creation of trend forward brand packaging across various home categories.
- Partners with product development and merchandising to fill lifestyle needs by product category. Influences the organization on design decisions.
- Partners with the Sr. Product Development Managers, Trend Teams and Divisional Manager to create compelling brand packaging
- Ensures the quality of the vendor's packaging through an established approval process and ensures all deadlines are met.
- Creates and directs brand packaging for a wide variety of products (boxes, hangtags, labels, etc).
- Prioritizes and directs designers, freelancers, interns and/or contractors in design and content creation.
- Follow-through from conception to shelf - providing approvals and overseeing successful execution of all components before press and delivery. Communicate with product development and regulatory teams throughout the design process, including reviewing and proofing packaging.
- Maintains a strict adherence to T&A and deadlines. Establishes parameters of acceptable tolerances in print/color/construction while developing and implementing methods to improve efficiencies.
- Partners with legal and trademark administrator in researching new brand names, and ensures all legal/trademark requirements are met.
- Performs special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education: BFA or related degree in design preferred.
- Experience: 5-8 years of design-related experience with a proven ability to manage multidisciplinary design teams or designers.
- Strong knowledge of design trends, with expertise in creating cohesive solutions that span packaging, product, and merchandising.
- Exceptional color, typography, and style sensibility.
- Demonstrated ability to guide business stakeholders through the design process while maintaining brand integrity.
- Outstanding leadership, organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and supporting office software.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines under pressure.
