Compensation Range: $28 - 32 per hour
We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Proofreader to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will ensure all marketing materials adhere to our brand guidelines, grammar rules, and legal requirements. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong grammar skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of marketing materials to ensure accuracy in formatting, content, grammar, punctuation, and spelling using Adobe Acrobat and Word.
- Review and adjust documents for correct representation of logos, product names, and legal terminology.
- Confirm the inclusion of necessary disclaimers, footnotes, legal text, and state-specific regulations in documents.
- Perform thorough audits of fulfillment materials and data tables to guarantee precision and zero errors.
- Collaborate with the Editor to update fulfillment setups based on identified inaccuracies and verified data.
- Ensure all corrections are implemented by following up on edited drafts.
- Identify and correct spelling, visual, or content discrepancies in all materials.
- Utilize the proofreader's marks to indicate and rectify errors within the copy.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of proofreading or editing experience.
- A college degree in English, journalism, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Word.
- Knowledge of sentence and paragraph construction.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with proofreading marks and editing symbols.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Understanding of print production processes, including recognizing layout issues.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing project needs.
