Textile Designer (Remote)

Compensation Range: $35 - 45 per hour

Our client in the retail space is seeking a freelance Textile Designer that will work on an array of categories including home, menswear, and womenswear. This role is a temporary contract and will be about 8 hours per week on a fully remote basis. Candidates should be proficient in tools like Ned Graphics, Adobe Creative Suite, and Spark.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop original textile designs for our designer collaborations, aligning with brand aesthetics and project specifications. Alternatively: recolor, scale, and update design provided by brands that are collaborated with.
  • Prepare detailed tech packs, ensuring all design specifications are clearly communicated to fabric mills.
  • Efficiently upload, manage, and organize design files within designated server and in Spark, maintaining accurate and timely information flow.
  • Review and approve fabric strike-offs, ensuring quality and design integrity.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, providing design updates and responding to feedback promptly.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in textile design. Experience across a range of categories (home, menswear, and womenswear) is highly beneficial, as projects vary.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in NedGraphics, Adobe Creative Suite, and preferably Spark.
    Create tech packs for fabric mills. Review and approve strike-offs up to Target standards.
  • Previous Collaboration: Preferred candidates will have prior experience working with us and a strong understanding of how to utilize Spark effectively. Knowledge of utilizing color standards from systems such as Coloro and Pantone.
  • Flexibility: Able to adapt to varying project workloads, with the ability to meet deadlines in high-demand periods and maintain productivity during quieter times.
  • Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills, with a proactive approach to teamwork and timely communication.
